The Water Project Toolkit application (WPTApp) provides guidance and information on best practices forimplementing water and sanitation projects in the developing world.The WPT App gives access to the analytical tools necessary toevaluate the specific context, issues and needs in your projectarea, as well as operational checklists to guide you throughout theproject lifecycle.Use the WPT navigator to quickly find appropriate advice on yourproject by selecting your sector (Water Resource management, Basicservices, Municipal services, Agriculture, Energy and Sectorperformance) and project phase (Programming, Identification,Formulation, Implementation and Evaluation-Audit).Once it is installed, the WPT is also accessible offline.The WPT app was developed by the Joint Research Centre withEuropeAid.The Water Project Toolkit (WPT) aims to promote the sustainabledevelopment of the water sector, and is an example of the EuropeanCommission’s commitment to provide sound operational guidance tohelp improve the quality and effectiveness of sustainable waterdevelopment projects. Based on internationally agreed principles,the WPT is a guide for those involved in developing the watersector, which helps them apply sound and environmentallysustainable practices in areas such as institutional management,socio-economic and public governance, finance, the environment,education, capacity building, communications and technology. Itconsists of step-by-step suggestions for the planning,identification, formulation, implementation and evaluation ofwater-development activities.The first edition of the WPT was reviewed by the European UnionWater Initiative (EUWI) and published by the European Commission in1998 as a proposed strategic approach, and marked a turning pointin water-related development cooperation. This second editionfocuses on the evolution in international development cooperationand water sector policies over the past ten years.The WPT is a living document which is available online atwww.aquaknow.net.

Launched by theEuropean Commission in 2013, the app now covers all modes oftransport in the EU – air, rail, bus and boat. Passenger Rightsgives clear and concise information on travel rights in theEuropean Union. The question/answer format makes it easy for you toidentify the problem you're having and get a clear explanation ofyour rights concerning that problem, and the options available toyou. The app includes features for visually impaired people (whensupported by the device), is available in 25 languages and useslocal storage on your device to avoid the need for dataconnectivity whilst travelling.

This app enables the general public(amateursor professionals) to receive information about the qualityofambient air, and notifies them in case of an exceedance ofpre-setpollution thresholds. It displays data from the airsensingnetworks that publish their data using Sensor ObservationServicescompliant with the INSPIRE Directive.

The ‘My region’ app gives mobile access to a selection ofannualregional indicators at NUTS 2 level for the EU-28, EFTAandcandidate countries. The app is available in threelanguages:English, French and German. The update function allows todownloadthe freshest data from the Eurostat database. TheReflecting on Europe app, entitled "Have your Say onEurope",enables you to give your opinion through a survey on thefuture ofEurope, view the survey results for all EU countries inthelanguage of your choice, and discover past and future localeventstaking place in Europe. The app is available in all EUlanguageswith the easy option to switch from one language toanother. TheEuropean Committee of the Regions is the EuropeanUnion's assemblyof regional and locally elected representativesfrom the 28 EUcountries. The European Commission's Social Biking challenge aims to promoteahealthier lifestyle by encouraging physical activity and amoreenvironmentally sustainable means of transport, the bicycle!Anyoneadult with a smartphone that has a GPS function is eligibletoparticipate in the Social Biking challenge and become aSocialBiker (S-biker). General Instructions BikePrints points:EachS-biker needs to activate the BikePrints app ('StartBikePrinting'button) whenever s/he starts cycling. The app recordshis/hermovement and translates the tracked kilometres into points,suchthat 1km=1point. The chances of winning a prize aredirectlyproportional to the distance covered. Therefore, the morepoints aS-biker collects, the higher are the chances to win aprize.S-bikers can be part of a Social Biking "pair" and jointlyearn"Pair Bonus" in addition to individual points in twodifferentways: Common Route Bonus: A S-biker doubles his/her ownand his/herpartner's points by cycling on his/her partner'sBikePrints routewithin 48 hours after the partner cycled on thatroute. Once you have registered yourdevicewith your EU Login account, authentication can be done withjustyour PIN code when accessing EU Login protected applicationsusingthe app via your mobile browser. EU Login can also be used asasecond factor authenticator if an application requires it.Don'thave WIFI or Internet access? Don't worry, you can generateaunique code via the QR Code scanner.
